01 — Our story

Where India's forgotten flavours find a home

The UK's Indian restaurant scene has long served the same familiar menu: butter chicken, tikka masala, and a handful of generic curries that barely scratch the surface of the subcontinent's extraordinary culinary heritage.

Gumnam is different. We travel to the source, into the homes, markets, and regional kitchens, to bring Dundee the dishes that history almost forgot.

03 — The regions

What are lost cuisines?

India has over 28 states, each with its own distinct culinary language. Regional dishes shaped by geography, history, religion and trade routes. Most will never appear on a restaurant menu. Gumnam exists to change that.

From the royal courts of Lucknow to the fishing villages of Kerala, each dish on our menu carries a story worth telling and a flavour worth travelling for.
